Designing permissions for client-facing project workspaces
A practical model for sharing progress without exposing internal discussion.
Clients need visibility. They do not need every Slack-adjacent debate attached to a task.
We settled on project-level guest roles with a curated view: milestones, files, and approved notes.
Default-deny on internal comments saved more support time than any onboarding doc.
